We booked to exhibit at the Cake & Bake show back in March and it seemed like it was such a long time away, but it came round so quickly, I was lucky enough to had hired some fantastic girls in to help me bake all the cakes and bake they did, around 1000 cupcakes and countless cakepops were made for the weekend, we could have made triple and I still don’t think it would have been enough, we sold out three times over, but more of that later…

I hired an amazing girl called Alara who shared my vision for the Gingercups brand and how the stand should look, we were going all out, this was our chance to show the world who we were and what we were about, and she did the most unbelievable job, I literally cried when I saw it all finished, it was perfect, my brother and buisness partner convinced me that it would be amazing to have a neon Gingercups light and he was right, it finished the stand off perfectly and made the stand, I love it, it even flashes…brilliant!

I had two brilliant girls to help me on the stand, we all dressed up in our pink Gingercups dresses and had gorgeous red wigs, 50′s style, our makeup and hair girl was brilliant and we all felt the part when she had finished preening us!!

The first day was a whirlwind, 10,000 people came through the doors and it was non stop, we ran out of cakes at 1pm and had to get more driven up to us, One of the fabulous baker brothers Tom Herbert asked to have his picture taken with us, Peggy Porschen came to the stand and said how great it looked among others, it was such a reward after working so hard,

The Sunday saw another 10,000 people come through the door and again we sold out early, I had to wait for 200 cupcakes to arrive and when I went to collect them from the entrance I approached  my stand to a crowd seven deep waiting for their arrival, we sold out of all the new cupcakes in fifteen minutes, it was the end to a brilliant weekend and I cannot wait for Cake & Bake 2013!!
